Terms of Service
Effective 14 September 2026. These terms are adapted from GitHub's site-policy documents (CC0) and trimmed to the size of this service.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Luminaid is operated by Calico AG, Riedmatt 2, 6300 Zug, Switzerland ("Calico", "we"). These terms govern your access to and use of the Luminaid websites, application and API (the "Service"). By creating an account, accepting an invitation or using the Service you agree to them. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you confirm that you may bind that company, and "you" means the company.
2. Definitions
- Account — your identity on the Service, tied to an email address you control.
- Organization — the customer entity; it holds the plan, the credit pool and one or more Workspaces.
- Workspace — the unit in which keywords, personas, brand configuration, analyses and content live. Members are invited per Workspace with a role.
- Credit — one analysis run of one brand. Plans grant credits per month; credits are consumed when a run starts and refunded when a run fails before producing results.
- Content — everything you put into the Service (keywords, brand details, pages you ask us to read) and everything the Service produces for you (analyses, reports, drafts).
3. Accounts
The Service is invite-only: an account exists because an Organization owner or Calico invited its email address. You must be at least 18 years old, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and tell us promptly at hello@getluminaid.com if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for everything done through your account. One person may not hold more than one free allowance.
4. Plans, credits and payment
Prices are shown in euros, exclusive of VAT, and are charged monthly in advance for the plan you select; the run shape a credit buys (keywords, personas, engines, crawl depth) is the one shown for your plan when you subscribe. Credits granted by a plan expire when the plan period they were granted for ends; the free allowance is granted once and does not renew. We may change prices with 30 days' notice; the change applies from your next renewal. Contract plans are governed by their contract where it differs from these terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break any law, or infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights;
- analyse, crawl or reproduce websites you have no right to have us read on your behalf, or circumvent access controls of any third party;
- send unsolicited communications, or generate content that is deceptive, defamatory, harassing or unlawful;
- probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service or of the answer engines and search providers it queries, or interfere with their normal operation;
- resell, sublicense or provide the Service to third parties other than through an agency arrangement agreed with us;
- reverse engineer the Service or use automated means to extract its data beyond the API we provide for your Workspace.
6. Your content and our output
You own the Content you put in and the reports and drafts the Service produces for your Workspace. You grant us the rights needed to operate the Service: to store your Content, send your keywords and personas to the answer engines and search providers listed in our Privacy Policy, read the pages you ask us to read, and produce and store the results for you. We do not use your Content to train models. Output produced with the help of AI models may be inaccurate; you are responsible for reviewing anything you publish.
7. Third-party services
The Service queries answer engines and search providers operated by third parties and stores their answers for you. Their availability, terms and output are theirs, not ours; a provider outage or refusal is not a failure of the Service, and a run that could not start because of one is refunded.
8. Cancellation and termination
You may cancel at any time from the Service or by writing to us; the plan ends at the close of the paid period and is not refunded pro rata. You may ask us to delete an Organization or Workspace at any time; we export its data on request, delete it within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy, and keep a deletion record. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, does not pay, or exposes the Service or others to risk, with notice where the law requires it.
9. Availability, disclaimer and liability
We provide the Service "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement, and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that its analyses are complete or correct. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Calico is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, loss of profits or data, or any amount exceeding the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Swiss law.
10. Changes to the Service and to these terms
We change the Service continuously and may add, alter or retire features. We may update these terms; material changes are announced by email or in the Service at least 30 days before they take effect, and continued use after that date is acceptance. The current version is always at this address.
11. Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the CISG. The courts of Zug, Switzerland, have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that grant you another venue.
